Gastronomy:
Our dishes, which reflect the rude and poor nature of Friuli, grow rich of parfumes, tastes and colours with products and beauties of our uncontaminated region. Our food is strictly connected with natural and genuine products coming from fields, cowsheds, farmyards, waters and woods. Nowadays these dishes with a plenty of passions and experiences are searched for their authenticity and deliciousness. We recommend you some of our typical dishes:

Hors- d'oeuvres:
San Daniele dry-cured ham, Sauris Speck, Local sausages, Game hams, Wild-boar or Goose sausage, Mount Red chicory, Asparagus withhard-boiled eggs, Cured cheese with boiled potatoes, fresh or matured dairy cheese, fresh or smoked cottage cheese, Green cheeses, cheese seasoned in marc, and lots of officinal herbs.


Soups:
Barley and bean soup, Herbs soup, Tripe soup, Cream of asparagus soup, Savoy soup with beans, Potatoes soup with leek , Potatoes soup with beans and mushrooms.


First courses:
Potatoes, pumpkins or herbs dumplings with hot butter, cottage cheese and sage, or with gamesauce, barley or risotto with mushrooms or with autumnal vegetables, home-made pasta with mushrooms, with herbssauce or with smoked trout.


Second courses:

Boiled pork sausage with brovada, Baked salami in balsamic vinegar, Cheese or potatoes pie, baked shin of pork or veal, roast sucking-wild-boar, Ragout of roebuck, Breast of duck with potatoes, Baked leg of pork with chestnuts, Sausage in white wine, mixed grill, Omelette with salami, cheese or herbs, Trout with currant or stewed.


Polenta:
Pay particoular attention to our polenta, which combines very good with our regional dishes. Mais growing in Friuli is very extended and belongs to our culture and polenta symbolizes this tradition.

Bread:
Bread is very important on our tables with its variety of shapes and tastes: it can be prepared with polenta, walnuts, mushrooms, onion, asparagus, herbs or cracklings of pork.

Desserts:
Apple pie, Gubana, fruit tart, Chestnuts pie, Pumpkin pie, Walnut tart, typical flat cake...


D.o.c. white wines:
Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia, Tocai Friulano, Riesling, Sauvignon, Traminer aromatico, Verduzzo Friulano, Picolit.

D.o.c. red wines:
Merlot, Cabernet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Frank, Pinot Nero, Schioppettino, Refosco del Peduncolo Rosso, Pignolo, Tazzelenghe, Rosso, Rosato.

Distillates:
Our regional "grappa" has reached very high levels of quality. Famous is the grappa "Picolit" and "Monovitigno"; You can find also aromatized grappas with herbs or fruits: juniper, blueberry, pino, gentian, currant, pear, ecc.
